Why stay in a ski chalet?

More skiing, less hassle.

That's the beauty of a Skiworld chalet holiday. With flights, transfers, breakfast, afternoon tea, three or four-course evening meals and free-flowing wine all included, everything is taken care of before you even arrive. All you need to think about is where you'll ski next.

After a day on the slopes, return to a warm, welcoming chalet, homemade afternoon tea and hosts who know the resort inside out. Whether you're looking for the best lunch spot on the mountain, a hidden run or where to head for après, they're always happy to help.

For over 40 years, we've been creating unforgettable ski chalet holidays in the Alps. From traditional Alpine favourites to modern apartment-style chalets, every one of our 60+ exclusive properties is chosen for its great location, friendly atmosphere and fantastic value. Add in full ABTA and ATOL protection, and you've got everything you need for an effortless week in the mountains.

"There's a reason so many skiers come back to chalet holidays year after year. After a day on the slopes, nothing beats kicking off your boots, settling in with a drink and swapping stories from the mountain over a good meal. It's all part of what makes chalet life so special. The atmosphere is relaxed, sociable and welcoming, making it easy to get to know the people around you. Ask any chalet regular and they'll tell you that some of their favourite holiday memories were made around the dining table, not just on the slopes."

What's the food like on a ski chalet holiday?

Great food is one of the things that makes a catered chalet holiday so special. After all, a week in the mountains works up quite an appetite. That's why our chalet catering is designed to keep you fuelled from first lift to last run, with hearty breakfasts, homemade afternoon tea and delicious evening meals all included as part of your stay.

Start each day with a continental breakfast, with hot options served on most mornings, before heading out to explore the slopes. Then, after a day on the mountain, return to the welcoming smell of freshly baked cakes and sweet treats waiting for you in the chalet – a much-loved tradition of chalet life and the perfect way to recharge after skiing.

In the evenings, gather around the dining table to enjoy a freshly prepared meal served by your chalet hosts, accompanied by complimentary wine. Depending on your chalet grade, menus range from quality three-course dinners to more refined four-course dining experiences, alongside traditional Alpine specialities that showcase the flavours of the mountains.

For many guests, these shared mealtimes become a highlight of the holiday. It's where stories from the slopes are exchanged, plans are made for the next day's skiing and new friendships are formed. Take a look at our chalet menus to see what's currently being served across our catered chalets.

What's included in a ski chalet holiday?

One of the reasons chalet holidays remain so popular is that so much is taken care of for you. From flights and resort transfers to accommodation, chalet catering and hosting, everything is wrapped up into one easy booking. That means less time planning and budgeting before your trip, and more time looking forward to a week in the mountains.

Once you're in resort, the value really starts to shine. Start each day with breakfast before heading out to ski, return to homemade afternoon tea after the lifts close, then sit down to a freshly prepared evening meal with complimentary wine. With so much included, there's less need to factor in the cost of restaurant meals and drinks throughout the week, helping your ski budget go further.

It's not just about what's included, though – it's about the experience too. Your chalet hosts are there throughout your stay, serving meals, keeping the chalet running smoothly and sharing their local knowledge, whether you're looking for the best mountain lunch spot or where to head for après.

When everything's taken care of, you're free to focus on what matters most: making the first lift, finding fresh tracks and enjoying every moment of your time in the mountains.

Ski Chalet FAQ's

What is a catered ski chalet?

A catered ski chalet isn’t your typical getaway, it’s a true alpine escape, with everything taken care of. Flights, airport transfers, hearty breakfasts, indulgent three or four-course evening meals with unlimited wine, and even afternoon tea are all part of the package. It’s the ultimate way to ski in style without breaking the bank. And the best part? The chalet hosts aren’t just there to serve; they’re passionate skiers who know the slopes inside out. Need a tip for the best run or a hidden après-ski spot? Just ask. With Skiworld catered ski chalets exclusively operated by us, you’ll feel right at home. On your chalet host's day off, venture out to the resort for dinner and make the most of your alpine adventure!

Why book a whole catered ski chalet?

Just like a great bottle of wine or your birthday celebrations, a ski holiday is an experience best shared. What better way to enjoy the benefits of a catered chalet holiday than by having a quintessential alpine home for JUST you and your group? The benefits of booking a whole chalet include:

  • Home from home feel, have the whole chalet just for you and your friends or family
  • Complete privacy, slippers and pyjamas at breakfast is the norm!
  • Relax and soak up the comforts of a cosy ski chalet; look out for features like log fires, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs
  • Benefit from extra beds (and extra value). If you book the whole chalet, it's up to you how many people stay there (up to the maximum capacity) and if a third adult or child stays in a room that has an extra bed then this would reduce the price for everyone!

What's included in a stardard chalet package?

  • Return charter flights from the UK and shared transfers to and from your booked chalet's ski resort
  • Flight baggage allowance (usually 20kg - 23kg)
  • Door-to-door transfers between airport and chalet
  • Chalet accommodation and catered meals - breakfast, afternoon tea and three or four-course evening meals on six nights, including wine.

Why book a chalet with Skiworld?

  • Our chalets offer a wonderful and cosy home-from-home feeling that you can't get in an apartment or hotel
  • Prices include flights (with 20kg or 23kg hold luggage allowance included) and door-to-door shared transfers between airport and chalet
  • Choose from a variety of locations - never too far from resort amenities and slopes - and strike a balance between accessibility and tranquility
  • Chalet holidays present excellent value for money by including wine with dinner, providing breakfast (and lunch snacks if you're savvy!) and eliminating the need to book restaurants every night
  • You can maximize savings with our biggest and best early booking offers, loyalty discounts, and an all-inclusive ski deal, guaranteeing a fixed price for your holiday, lift pass, ski hire, accommodation, and transfers

In which resorts can I stay in a chalet?

Skiworld have catered chalets in ONLY snow-sure ski resorts. Many of the resorts are well known for having the combination of excellent skiing, dining, nightlife and off-mountain activities, making them ideal destinations for a holiday. Choose from Alpe d'Huez, Courchevel, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Les Deux Alpes, Meribel, St Anton, Tignes, Val d'Isere and Val Thorens.

What happens if I have special dietary requirements?

To help us plan properly and deliver the best possible service, it’s essential that you let us know about any dietary requirements before you book. We’ll then confirm whether we can cater for your needs and ensure the request is added to your invoice.

We’re delighted to accommodate the dietary requirements listed in the table below. However, please note that we cannot cater for certain combinations (for example, someone who eats no fish and no dairy). If this applies to you, please speak to us before booking. In some cases, a self-catered holiday may be a better option.

If you’re unsure whether we can cater to your needs, our Ski Specialists are always happy to discuss options with you before you commit to booking.

We'd like to stay in a chalet, but there are only 2/3/4 of us - is this possible?

Yes! Traditionally, catered chalets were bookable room-by-room. So you could book a whole chalet, but only if you were quick off the blocks and booked very early! We now have a range of 'shared catered chalets' to go with our 'whole catered chalets', so single travellers, couples and smaller groups can enjoy the convivial, sociable catered chalet experience once again. Solo skiers can also join our solo-skiing trips, joining like-minded travellers for a week on the slopes.

Find out more about the traditional catered chalet holiday on the shared chalets page.
